Fresh Wasabi Petioles (Stems) are a wonderful Seasonal delicacy. The petioles of the authentic Wasabia japonica plant are not only edible, but offer a delicious crunch with a mild wasabi heat. Real Wasabi's long, straw-like stems are ideal for unique and delicious edible accoutrements to presentations of sushi, sashimi or salads and also tasty and nutritious as zuke pickles. 

Expand your culinary pursuits by adding the chopped petioles, stems, to fresh salads or vegetable dishes, sauté with mixed greens, add to pickles where they absorb flavors while providing their own distinctive notes or use as a garnish with beverages such as Bloody Mary’s or Classic Martinis.

Maintain freshness by wrapping the petioles (stems) in a slightly damp cloth or paper towel and store in the refrigerator.
