How to Make Wasabi Sauce, Dip and Wasabi Lime Dressing

There are a few basic variations of real wasabi sauce that compliment fish dishes perfectly, however, Wasabi is not just for sushi and fish dishes. It is also a great flavor enhancer for vegetables, noodle dishes, chicken and so much more. Wasabi sauce also makes a wonderful dip for potstickers, egg rolls or dumplings.

The flavors that naturally go with wasabi are of course soy or tamari, but, ginger, sesame, garlic, and even lime also make for very tasty flavor combinations.

So without further ado, here are 4 favorite wasabi sauce recipes:

It doesn’t matter what you like to eat – this Wasabi Ginger Garlic Sauce is a great condiment for it. Make this once and it will become a staple in your repertoire.

1 piece of fresh ginger, about an inch
1 tsp Real Wasabi Powder
1 clove of garlic

WASABI LIME DRESSING / MARINADE

This dressing goes with a number of things, but I prefer it with chicken and fish meals as a dressing or a dipping sauce.

Ingredients

1/4 cup lightly seasoned rice vinegar
1/4 tsp Real Wasabi powder, more to taste if you like
1/4 tsp. cold water [enough to make a stiff paste with the wasabi powder]
juice of 1 small lime
1 pinch sea salt

Method

Make Wasabi Paste by mixing Real Wasabi 100% Pure Wasabi Powder with cold water to make a stiff paste. Cover and set aside for 5 minutes.
Mix together other ingredients.

Add Wasabi Powder and stir until all ingredients well mixed.
This dressing can be stored, covered, in a fridge for several days. Stir well before use.
